I cannot begin to articulate how grateful I am to have found Andrew. His inspiring piano teaching has hooked me! Andrew has a real passion for the piano. He carefully selects music for his students to play that is both appropriately challenging, and enjoyable. Looking back over the last few years, I am astounded at the range of music I have learnt. Andrew makes learning to play the piano a real pleasure. I thoroughly look forward to every lesson.
I started having lessons with Andrew last year when my husband bought me some vouchers for my birthday and I never would have believed that only one year later I could be capable of achieving what I have so far. This is largely due to both Andrew’s patience and encouragement and the fact that the lessons are structured yet enjoyable. Even at times when I doubt my ability he always provides positive and constructive advice to increase my confidence. I have found the whole experience challenging (as a late learner) but thoroughly satisfying and very therapeutic and can safely say it is one of the better gifts my husband has bought me!
I was a complete piano beginner this time last year and whilst I’m not up to performance level just yet, I am amazed at what I have achieved with Andrew’s patient and encouraging tuition. Teaching piano needs patience, encouragement and humour. Andrew possesses these in abundance and ‘pianofun’ is just what it says on the tin. I love playing. Thank you Andrew – you have enhanced my life!
I have been learning to play the piano with Andrew for over 3 years, his lessons are very relaxed and user friendly making learning to play the piano fun. Learning to play an instrument in my late 20s and into my 30s has been challenging but Andrew is a patient teacher and sympathetic to different students needs. As well as following the ABRSM piano standards for grading I have also been able to choose pieces and learn to play the music I like rather than following strict text books and have been hands on with music since my first lesson. I look forward to continuing my lessons into the future and advancing my skills becoming a more confident and competent piano player.
As a musician I was not initially taught by Andrew. However, upon starting lessons with him aged nine I began to swiftly improve as a piano player, as well as finding it more fun. I am now fifteen years old and working towards my Grade 5 practical and theory exams, and there is no way I would have progressed so far if it wasn’t for Andrew. However, I don’t just study for exams, as during the month or so after finishing an exam he gives me pieces such as the Moonlight Sonata and Fur Elise to improve my skills as a musician on the whole.
